B410 DANCE PARTY

Back in the mid-80s when I was a teenager in Chicago, my friends and I had a Saturday tradition. We’d hop on the Red Line and ride it to the Belmont stop, then stroll over to our beloved juice bar at the corner of Sheffield and School. For three hours straight, we’d dance our hearts out until the clock struck 10 pm, signaling closing time.

As young adults, our love of dancing with our friends continued but our nights instead kicked off at 11 pm. We’d dance all night long at our favorite clubs around Fulton Street.

Then life took over. Late-night dancing became a distant memory, and the new norm was eagerly anticipating being home by 11 pm.

I miss dancing but I don’t miss staying out past 11 pm. That’s why I started this venture—to share my love for dancing to house, 90s, 80s, and disco in a safe environment. Come join me and let’s rebuild this dance party community without sacrificing our sleep!
